Where our house is
Ojén nestles in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves but is only ten minutes from Marbella. It is a typical white Andalusian village of around 2,000 people and feels like it is a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the coast.
Imagine walking through tiny narrow streets full of whitewashed houses and bouganvillea draping down from the upstairs windows, looking at wonderful views down to the Mediterranean. Or imagine walking through the weekend market savouring the sights, sounds and smells of a genuine working village and practising your Spanish with the welcoming locals.
Our house is only a fewminutes walking distance from a good selection of bars and restaurants, as well as food shops, a pharmacy, tobacconists and newsagents - everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. There is also a public swimming pool just outside the village open from June to September.

When to go
Ojén is an all-year-round destination, with stunning scenery to explore by foot or by car, and the beaches of the Costa del Sol just fifteen minutes away.
In the summer Ojén enjoys long hot days with temperatures averaging 30-35 degrees. August is normally the hottest month, when temperatures can often reach 40 degrees. Spring and Autumn usually enjoy comfortable temperatures of at least 20 degrees.
Even though the weather in winter can be unpredictable, there is still plenty to do and see in the area, and you can still enjoy days of bright blue skies, knowing that the house will remain cosy in the evenings.
