Spectaculat views; quiet location but easy access to everything!
We built this house six years ago, and is of a modern but rustic Spanish style built over two floors. As you enter the main door there is the first toilet in front of you which is tiled in a stunning Spanish style with Mediterranean colours.This area then opens out into a very large lounge and dining area, off of which is the kitchen, the summer terrace, the winter terrace and the 4th bedroom all on the top floor.
The kitchen is fully appointed with a attractively huge American fridge which incorporates an ice maker and cold water dispenser. there is also a huge five burner stove with two ovens. The top oven is perfect for pizzas ( quick meals for the kids) and the bottom oven is large enough for a big joint or turkey at Christmas. there is a big sink, dishwasher; washing machine; kettle toaster and microwave, in addition to all cutlery plates cups saucers glasses etc. everything is there for your holiday. The summer terrace is perfect for BBQ's ( this is where our huge BBQ is kept) as this terrace gets the hot sunshine in the morning but is lovely and shady by early afternoon. this terrace also has the stunning views across the mountains. The winter terrace catches the sun all day long, and overlooks the pool area. The pool area has a large sunbathing terrace surrounding it. This area is very private and can not be looked over by any other properties. We have spectacular views towards the village of Guaro in one direction, and towards Malaga and the Sierra's in the other direction.There are sunbeds and sun lounge chairs on the pool terrace and sunbathing area. The pool is eight meters long, and four meters wide and is an absolute dream of a pool, you will love it.
From the top floor you take a attractively tiled Spanish style staircase to the lower bedroom floor, where you will find three large bedrooms (4 meters by four meters) that's about 12 feet by 12 feet, which are very comfortably appointed with good beds and clean fresh bed linen and towels (yes we supply towels so don't pack any).
The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, with a huge bath and shower over, toilet and lovely Spanish style inlaid sing with two mirrors above. there is a King size bed in this room with plenty of wardrobe and draw space, and a ceiling fan above the bed. Bedroom two is the same size, but has three single and very comfortable beds, with a huge ceiling fan over head. This bedroom uses the central bathroom which has a big shower recess,toilet and lovely modern sink over a big storage cupboard, with plenty of room. Bedroom three has a king size bed, and a single bed, once again with a ceiling fan over the beds. and finally bedroom four on the top floor, has a double pull out sofa bed, and a further single bed underneath for an extra child. Bedroom four also has a huge ceiling fan over the bed.
There is no air-conditioning, and the reason for this is that we get a wonderful summer breeze that blows through the top floor when the summer terrace french doors and the winter terrace french doors are left open. This is very cooling in the heat of the day, and is much much healthier than air conditioning. The bedrooms on the lower floor do not need air conditioning as there is no direct sunshine on them as they are effectively below ground at the back, but with french doors looking out to the view of the mountains at the front..attractive!!
The Land.
The land where the house has been built, is literally half a kilometer outside the picturesque village of Guaro, which holds one of Andalucias biggest festivals every year in September called "Luna Mora". This consists of a "Moorish" market, where the entire village is lit only by candles. The atmosphere is wonderful. At the end of each evening (2 weekends Friday and Saturday nights) there is a concert in our newly constructed "Amphitheater" under the stars. As there is so much traffic during this weekend, we are lucky that we can easily walk into the village from the villa to witness this spectacular event. The views form the land are breath taking, and there are miles of mountains to walk and discover, or a short drive takes you to all the resorts facilities on the Costa Del Sol
The local area
We are in one of the most attractive parts of Spain, with historic dams and hydro electric power systems which were built before and during world war 2. The film "Von Ryans Express" starring Frank Sinatra was filmed just up the road, and the BBC television set for Eldorado is still located just outside Coin and is now a hotel complex. We are in easy reach of Gibraltar and the ferry boats to Morocco and Ceuta leading into North Africa. This whole area is stooped in history and we have a valley known as Barranco Blanco where the famous Timote television ad was shot, and this area was also home to escaping Nazis after the end of the war, protected by General Franco.
