Villa Amistad is a luxurious villa,fully equipped, with private swimming pool set in a professionally-landscaped garden and surrounded by attractive scenery with views to the sea. It's our second home, not just a holiday let, and as such is furnished to a very high standard, full of Spanish character. The accommodation comprises a very large lounge/diner with DVD and satellite television and a selection of DVDs and CDs, books and games left for your enjoyment. There is a well-equipped kitchen, incl. microwave and dishwasher, with a separate utility and washing machine. It comfortably sleeps six with three double bedrooms, one super-king, one king and one twin all with comfy good quality mattresses. There are two bathrooms and a separate loo. The house stays cool in summer naturally but all bedrooms and the living area have ceiling fans installed.
Things to do and see:
Villa Amistad provides the perfect base from which to explore all that the lovely Northern Costa Blanca has to offer. Situated just five miles inland from Denia and Javea, it provides easy access to all the beaches of the peninsula. The Marriott La Sella resort is five minutes away and offers an 18-hole golf course, spa and gym. Benidorm is just half an hour’s drive and provides plenty of activity for the kids with various theme parks: water park Aqualandia, Mundomar (the local equivalent to Sea World), theme park Terra Mitica and nature park Terra Natura. The attractive fortified hilltop village of Guadalest is an easy drive from Benidorm and well worth a visit.
Things to do locally:
If you don’t fancy lazing by the pool all day, locally available activities include shopping, golf, sailing, diving, jet-skiing, go-karting, horse riding and day trips to Ibiza. A walk up to the nearby mirador will be rewarded by breathtaking views of the local countryside. More stretching walks are available in the nearby Montgo National Park. In the villa you'll find guidebooks showing walks in the area as well as details of local attractions. The Portal de La Marina Shopping Centre is a short drive away and, as well as lots of shops and restaurants, offers a cinema with English films available.
The local town of Gata de Gorgos is famous for its wickerwork and guitar factories. It is full of interesting shops from where you can buy unusual gifts and souvenirs. Gata, and the neighbouring town Pedreguer offer a number of good restaurants and bars and there’s an English restaurant, Munroes’ Carvery, just two mins drive from the house. Hiring a car is essential and will enhance your enjoyment of this gorgeous part of Spain.
