About Torrox Costa
Torrox Costa is a seaside resort on the eastern Costa del Sol. The main beaches are located in the town itself. The two sandy beaches are some nine kilometres in length. There is a traffic free promenade running alongside the eastern beach. There are many varied restaurants, cafes and bars lining the promenade. Whilst Torrox is a relatively quiet, family oriented resort just five minutes away by car is Nerja with its abundance of nightlife and many more places to eat and drink. The Apartment
The apartment was completed in April 2005. It is fully furnished and equipped.
There is a fitted kitchen with a built-in electric oven, a four-ring halogen hob and a built-in refrigerator with freezer compartment. There is a kettle, toaster and combination microwave-grill. All utensils and pots and pans are provided.
In the bathroom are a shower, hand basin and WC. All towels are provided except beach towels. We would ask that you do not use towels from the apartment on the beach.
Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes with hangers provided, chests of drawers and bedside cabinets with bedside lamps. The main bedroom has a double bed whilst the second has twin single beds. All bed linen is provided.
The lounge-diner has an extendible table and six chairs.There is a wall unit, which houses the television and satellite receiver (FTA).
All rooms have electric fans. There is also an iron and ironing board.
Outside on the south-facing terrace there is a patio table and four chairs with a sun umbrella. There is an extendible washing line as well.
Within the confines of the development there are two restaurants, two supermarkets and a cash dispenser. There is an office where car hire can be arranged as can coach excursions to Granada, Gibraltar etc.
Things to do, things to see
Close to the apartment, less than a minute walk is the communal swimming pool. This has key access only, the key is provided. The local beach, El Peñocillo is about fifteenminutes walking distance or two minutes by car. There is ample car parking beside the beach. There are many restaurants here.
Less than ten minutes to the west is the Baviera golf course (18 hole). The shopping and entertainment complex at El Engenio, just off the main N340 road is also only ten minutes drive. Here you will find the Eroski hypermarket, as well as Dunne’s Stores. This is store similar to M&S or BHS in England. Many smaller fashion shops and restaraunts are also here. A multi-screen cinema can also be found, whilst just across the road is the Aquavaelis water park.
To the east, five minutes drive, is Nerja the very lively and busy resort. There is a multitude of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops to be found here. The famous Caves of Nerja are here.
For those who like to get away from the sea at times Granada with the stunning Alhambra Palace is only about an hour and a half drive away, this is well worth a visit. There are also many shops here. The ski resort in the Sierra Nevada is found just outside Granada. This is worth a visit winter or summer just for the spectacular views alone. Speaking of views you can also drive through the Alpujarras and explore the roads and white villages in the hills around Torrox.
Within easy reach by car you can go horse riding, hill walking, learn to scuba dive, go sailing, visit natural parks, see wild bears ( at the Pena Escrita in Almuñécar) and much more.
