Leanne says: "Wow!! This cave house was amazing. We were a party of two families, comprising of five children between us, aged 9, 7, 5, 3 and six months so I must admit we were all a little concerned about keeping the children occupied, but we had no trouble at all the cave has everything you will need to keep you all entertained. Not that the kids really used them but there are games and toys all over the cave along with several family DVDs. All the kids done was play in the pool, yes it is a little cool but once you’re in its fantastic. We flew to Malaga and hired two cars, owners directions were excellent however so take care getting out of Malaga, it’s very busy, but once you’re on the motorway its straight through all the way. Cortes de baza is very quiet and like no-where else any of us had ever been before but we loved it. It is very Spanish and it wasn’t until the kids got the phrase book out and tried to have a conversation that some of the locals warmed to us. We had planned to get plenty of shopping form the Lidl in Baza, but beware even though it claims to be open all day it was shut on the Thursday that we went due to a nearby Fiesta, which was marvellous to see, it made up for the lack of shopping. We made use of the BBQ nearly every day, the butcher in the town is very friendly and the quality of the produce was outstanding. The Tapas is a wonderful addition to a cheap round of drinks, however the standard varies from bar to bar, also we noticed when we ventured out on the Saturday night the bars were very busy with the locals and even though we spent a small fortune at the bar we were slightly ignored at Victors and did not receive one plate of tapas, but this is understandable in such a close knit town. The kids loved the sweet shop. We ventured out to Castrill, which is a lovely drive through the countryside, however we just could not get out of the British mentality and arrived at 2.30pm, in the middle of the siesta and at the hottest point of the day. Even so it was a lovely place to see. The lake is amazing but we got lost a few times trying to find it, till another British person gave directions to the recreational part of the lake, which was stunning and such a lovely swim. Only pointers i would make is, this is not a commercial place at all, so if you’re looking for little souvenir shops and the likes you need to travel out of the town, please make sure you are aware of how dark the cave gets of a night, as i took a tumble on my first night seeing to the baby, make sure you leave a little light on somewhere in the cave, the flies can be a pain until night fall, but that could have been the time of year we went (7th -14th September). Overall this is a real great experience, the town the food the cave is lovely the most relaxing holiday i have been on, the cave is massive and the kids loved the adventure of it all. The weather was perfect with temps as high as 34, if its rural Spain you’re looking for in beautiful surroundings this is the holiday for you, we couldn’t spend our Euros and believe me we tried."
