why we chose this location?
We bought this villa in August 2006. It is a new build luxury villa designed and built by the renowned Melini Family Builders.
We had been holidaying on the Costa Blanca for years before discovering the delights of Calpe and the surrounding areas such as Moraira, Javea and Denia.
Calpe is easily accessible from two major airports - Alicante (50 min drive) and Valencia (70min drive). We always fly to Alicante where we hire a car
and take the easy motorway journey to Calpe , there are services on the way for a break if necessary.
Calpe itself is a lovely and friendly resort at the southern end of the northern Costa Blanca. It boasts two fabulous long sandy beaches extending out along curved bays from either side of the famous Peñon de Ifach. This is an enormous rock that has become the symbol of Calpe and a famous landmark on the Costa Blanca. The seafront promenade is lined by hotels and apartment blocks while low-rise residential complexes and villas lie on the gently sloping hills surrounding the town. There is a yachting marina and a fishing port where you can sample the days catch at one of the many seafood restaurants opposite the port. Calpe also has a charming old town with a Moorish quarter, narrow streets and castle ruins. Although Calpe is very popular with international tourists, it still manages to keep its Spanish and friendly charm.
If you have children, it will be easy to keep them entertained during their holidays. About 20 min drive from Calpe - towards Benidorm, you’ll find the recently built theme park – Terra Mitica and Terra Natura which are wonderful, but don‘t forget your sunblock!. In Benidorm itself, you can visit Mundomar where you find a marina and exotic animals. Almost next door is Aqualandia, a water park that is bound to be one of the headlines of your holiday.
Why we chose this villa?
We chose the La Vallessa development as it is a small private urbanization of just 16 Villas, of which just 13 share the massive Communal Swimming pool.
Set in a quiet residential area and only a short drive from attractive sandy beaches and supermarkets and restaurants. It is literally only a 20-30 minute walk with pushchairs etc and the kids absolutely love the steady walk, taking in the wonderful views and spotting Lizards! We normally drive down to the bottom of the road and park in Consum Supermarket if we anticipate carrying a lot of shopping or beach toys etc.
. We do recommend the Hire of a car as it does help with going to supermarkets/beach/restauants etc and gives you freedom to visit other areas if you wish to explore.
Please note it is not like been in the middle of a holiday complex staying in a hotel, it is for people who like a quiet location to enjoy their holiday and who don't mind hiring and driving a car in Spain.
The villa itself is set in an elevated position on the quiet urbanization and is very easy to find. It has wonderful views of the valley and we have watched many a perfect sunsets from the upper terrace.
It is a secure development with electric entrance gates.
There is a car port for one car attached to the house. The shared pool is only 20 meters from the Villa. There is a small/shallow pool attached to the main pool, ideal for small children and non-swimmers.
The detached villa compromises three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, modern and fully equipped kitchen. The ample living/dining room with modern furnishings leads to triple sliding doors opening onto the large patio area, an ideal place to spend the best part of the day watching the sun go down.
The master bedroom with built in wardrobes, double bed and en-suite bathroom (bath + shower, bidet, toilet and sink) is to be found upstairs, with French doors opening directly onto 27m2 patio with wonderful views of mountains and the Valley Park community.
The other two double bedrooms and a bathroom (shower, toilet and sink) are located downstairs. Both bedrooms have two single beds and double built in wardrobes. The kitchen is very modern with all the necessary equipment such as dishwasher, ceramic hob, oven, fridge/freezer and built in microwave.
The roofed patio is an ideal place to chill out with all new, stylish outdoor furniture, including table and chairs, sun beds and BBQ. There is also a small outdoor utility room with a washing machine.
The Villa is double glazed and has central heating. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. CD/DVD player and television in the lounge. Note dvds/cds not provided.
