Location
Villa Victoria has an enviable location in the exclusive residential area of Bon Aire to the north of the old walled town of Alcudia with many facilities located within a short walk of this very comfortable holiday villa with private pool. There is a restaurant at the end of the drive, only 100 meters from the entrance and a choice of other shops and dining facilities within easy walking distance. The beach and marina at Mal Pas are just 500 meters away and there is a wide selection of facilities available in Alcudia which is 1.6km to the south.
The beaches along the Pollensa Bay shoreline have white sand which shelves gently into the warm blue waters of the Mediterranean. There are numerous beach activities to choose from including a good selection of water sports. Alcudia is a bustling port with a large range of shops, restaurants and boutiques lining the sweeping sandy bay. Evening entertainment is varied and lively, and for families with children and teenagers, there is a water park for a fun day out. The old town of Alcudia is a attractively preserved medieval walled city and has a network of narrow streets and remnants of Roman architecture including amphitheatre.
Pollensa Old Town, around 11km inland, also has Roman origins and evidence of a bygone era can be found all around you in the narrow winding streets. There is a range of traditional craft shops, boutiques and pavement cafes hiding in the maze of cobbled streets waiting to be discovered. The town’s main square Placa Major is a lovely place to enjoy an evening meal, and it plays host to a Sunday morning market which sells an array of fresh local produce and traditional handicrafts. For golfing enthusiasts, nearby Pollensa Golf is a nine hole course with wonderful views over the Tramuntana mountains, olive groves and Pollensa Bay.
Puerto Pollensa, a little further north along the bay, has a great beach with excellent beachside facilities – ice-cream shops, kiosks, sun beds and parasols for hire, not to mention the range of water sports on offer – waterskiing, jet skiing, parasailing and windsurfing to name a few. Boat trips depart from here on island excursions, including one that heads up the coast to the Formentor peninsular, taking in some of the more secluded coves along the way. In the evening, Puerto Pollensa has a more low key nightlife than that of Alcudia, centred around dining out in restaurants and drinking in pavement cafes. A lovely place for an evening stroll is the ‘Pine Walk’, a charming leafy promenade lined with restaurants and cafes. Market day is on a Wednesday in the town square.
