Amli cabin rental details

Wonderful Woodland Retreat...
Set in a valley with direct views to the river and the local mountains this cabin is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the true Norway. The cabin is located on a flat rock plateau on the edge of the heather clad pine forest. A short 50 metres walk takes you down to the crystal clear waters of the river. Where you can fish for trout, take a boat trip or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the Norwegian Countryside.

This log cabin in Norway is ideally located within a reasonably short drive from Oslo Torp (Ryanair). There is a large lounge and kitchen with open fire and wood stove. television with UK Satellite Channels. There are four bedrooms sleeping a total of nine people. Three of the bedrooms have twin beds that can be put together to form double beds. The fourth bedroom has a “family bed” consisting of a bunk bed with a double under and a single over.

One of the main features of this property is the wonderful and secluded sandy beach with 700 metres of the cabin. The river is closer just 20 meters from the cabin... The beach has a volley ball net... and is ideal for swimming.

The cabin is with 60 metres on one other cabin... but this is only used occasionally by the owners.. so the chances are you will be alone.. The area has walks... and great fishing possibilities. Trout and perch being the main fish caught.

The views to Storefjell (Large Mountain) are amazing at sunrise when the sun changes the colour of the mountain to various shades of purple green and brown. Rising up to about 1000 metres the local glacier carved mountains are not the Alps but have a charm of their own. Locals believe the mountain range is in the shape of a sleeping giant troll…

The cabin is located on the edge of a pine forest approximately 150 metres from the road. The pine forest is rich in wildlife including Moose (elk), Red Deer, Roe Deer, Red Squirrels, Artic Hares, Badgers and Foxes… There is the occasional wolf in the area, in fact as this is being written August 2007 there is a warning notice about wolves to local sheep farmers. Beavers inhabit the local rivers and evidence of their activity can be seen in the whole area. The bird life also is also in abundance with Black Wood Peckers and many different birds of prey, including golden eagles.

In the right season there is an abundance of berries and mushrooms including blue berries, cranberries and cloud berries (an arctic delicacy).

There are many walks from the cabin. You can walk for as long and where you wish because of Norway’s relaxed “Right to Roam Laws”… The Norwegians believe that the countryside is for the people and “trespassing” is almost unheard of… So walk where you please… no one will bother you. Ordinance survey maps of the area are supplied in the cabin and we have a number of suggested walks.

Ski Centres are withi reach...
There are two alpine skiing centres are with a short drive...

Vradal is... apprx 80 kms away....

and Gautefal is 44 KMs away...

But of course you can X country ski from the door... and Sledge!!

Facilities....
This cabin is approx. 20K from the small town of Amli in Southern Norway. Where you will find two supermarkets, bank, small shops, museum etc

There is a small shop with five mins drive.

The Cabin is equipped with television Satellite with English Channels dishwasher, washing machine... and a large terrace...

Linen and a welcome pack... can be ordered... in advance.

NEW FROM MAY 2010 GAS FIRED HOT TUB!!! NOW available... Lovely wooded location... with views down to the river. 700 metres to the sandy beach which is a feature of this property. More often than not be you would have the beach to you selves... An Ideal place for the children to play... and relax. he area has moose... and deer and plenty of wildlife to see. Great fresh water fishing for trout. Boat included in price on a nearby river.

The cabin comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 4 double and a cot. The property also has a double bunk bed located in the Family Bunk bed... Double under single on top. This room gives up to 9 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

General:
cabin has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use.

Entertainment:
The cabin has television. The music system will play radio.

Eating & Living:
There is room for 9 in the living room and 12 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Pets:	Pets are welcome. Small dogs are OK... But must be not be let loose in the forest. Please inform us of any pets that will be at the cabin.
