The Farmhouse
This enchanting 300 year old farmhouse is located in the tranquil village of Gharb on the west side of the island of Gozo, it has been immaculately converted and stylishly furnished with Indian hardwood furniture offering large and luxurious surroundings in an idyllic location.
Outside
Surrounded by a attractively landscaped garden the lagoon swimming pool with waterfall and fishpond is a south facing haven with a large bbq and sunbathing area plus outside shower facility and for that complete Mediterranean feeling, an open gazebo overlooks the pool for outside catering.
Local Area
Gharb is probably one of the oldest Gozitan villages, where various archaeological excavations exposed the remains of Neolithic and Bronze Age settlements in the area.
It is a village that the visitor to Gozo should not miss. Its wonderful countryside tracks and valleys are ideal for walks and for relaxing. A visit to the cliffs at Wied il-Mielah with its spectacular natural "window" similar to the Azure Window of Dwejra or the peaceful and picturesque village square with its old hand sculptured balconies that adorn the villages oldest homes, guarantees a relaxing holiday filled with historic interest.
Gozo is known to provide a tranquil haven for a tempo and scene change, it is the ideal secluded safe haven and at just 25 minutes or so by ferry from Malta, the hop can easily be made for even the shortest stay. The charm of Malta’s sister island is immediately apparent, it’s greener, more rural and smaller, with life’s rhythms dictated by the seasons, fishing and agriculture. rugged landscape and spectacular coastline await exploration with some of the Mediterranean’s best dive sites. The island has so much to offer, with historical sites, forts and amazing panoramas, as well as one of the archipelago’s best-preserved prehistoric temples, Ggantija.
For daily needs there are supermarkets within walking distance, around 500 meterstrs from Penmon. There is a restaurant, (Salvinas restaurant) which is only two mins away by walk and the local football club, which offers a bar and take away. The Island is well served by restaurants, where the eating is good and varied. Apart from restaurants and cafés offering local dishes as well as continental menus, one can also enjoy themed restaurants, such as Chinese or Indian.There is no fear in walking about at night. The sense of safety and security is tangible as the locals take pride in the absolute absence of muggings and the almost non-existence of theft.
