The Villa
Built in local style, and using the specific materials from the region, local artisans carried out the wishes of the Dutch owner with great love and attention. Using many wooden beams and stones, the atmosphere of a rustic casale is that of luxury and light of a modern home a perfect combination in this particular region. The villa boasts a personal, homey atmosphere with a fully equipped, large, living kitchen, complete with a six burner Smegg gas oven, Miele dishwasher, Sabatier knives, Magimix kitchen machine and a scullery room with washing machine. Spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated, the rooms are accessible from the living room or from the car park via a footbridge. From the covered terrace with the large dining table, you will enter a large living room with magnificent views of the valley and a fireplace. The extensive library has a good selection of reading books and a CD player with large selection of CDs.The house is also connected to Wi-Fi for all communication needs. Both of the double bedrooms have queen size beds, the master bedroom, with en-suite, bathtub and shower, is located beside the living room, through a hallway.
Outside
This villa sits on an area of 27 hectares of meadows, forests and olive groves.The "portico" is a large covered terrace by the house. With its magnificent views, it is a perfect spot for a cool lunch. Behind the house and near the pizza oven there is a sun terrace and a covered terrace. The large 10x5 swimming pool is completed with sun loungers. Down the wide staircase, into the olive grove, and you will find a game table and a path that leads to a covered terrace with a bbq.
Local Area
The area is rich in sites of historic and natural beauty. The peaceful and calming effects of the house and scenery are coupled with the many wonderful opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and attractive trips in the area. The location is convenient for making unforgettable excursions to cities of Viterbo, Tuscania, Rieti, Orvieto and Assisi. And of course you are also close to the centre of Rome in a one hour drive. The medieval villages like Vacone, Montasola, Casperia, Roccantica, Collevecchio and Torri itself, can be seen from the terrace. They are well worth a visit. On the other side of the Montagnola, Rocchette is one of the most rural villages in Sabina. It is a 13th century fort built over Rochettine as protection. It is a 15-minute walk from the villa. Activities include walks, excursions to hot sulphur springs, medieval sites, local festivals in surrounding villages, swimming in nearby rivers and springs, and trips to Rome and Umbrian towns. There are also many fine restaurants located in the area.
