Villa Caterina
This villa is in a part of Umbria which is known for excellent local food and wines and the kindness and warmth of the locals. I was attracted to this area because of its outstanding natural beauty and calmness. At the same time it is not isolated and easily accessbile from Rome .
A car is highly recommended to reach the historic nearby towns of Amelia five miles, or the better known Orvieto 23 miles, Todi 38 miles.
The place is great for relaxing walks, cycling, lazy outdoor living, BBqs , it is very safe for children because the huge landscaped garden is totally fenced .
There is an enormous garage which has been turned into a playroom with ping pong - table football and other games. The closest shops for basic needs (cash machine, groceries, butcher, newsagent, bar, pharmacy, walk-in doctor surgery, hardware store) are all within a mile. with many more only 4-6 miles away. The proximity to Rome makes a day trip by train to the capital (35 minute train ride from Orte) no problem at all.
