Stunning 5 bedroomed Villa with Trullo. Own private pool and tennis court.
This stunning property is in a very private, rural setting with wonderful views over the local countryside. It is located between Martina Franca (a attractive town of baroque architecture and host to an annual Opera and music festival) and Ceglie Messapica (a wonderful centre for gastronomy where you can dine out at restaurants of Michelin star standards or grab a pizza for under €5). The world heritage site of Alberobello is less than 40 minutes away and the nearest beaches can be reached in about 45 minutes. Accommodation is large, comprising of a traditional building with four trulli cones connected to the main house. There is also a large conservatory with seating for 20+, an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven and BBQ and a covered pergola for outdoor dining. The real luxury of this property is the amount of outdoor space, a tennis court, swimming pool with slide and diving board, all set in three acres of fruits, olives and vines. The grounds of the Villa are on a very private, enclosed three acre plot, high on hill with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Lots of trees, shrubs and vines: figs, olives, cherries, walnuts, apples, pears, prickly pears, quince, citrus fruits, pomegranates, blackberries, persimmon, a herb garden - all free to pick when in season. The grounds are looked after by a local gardener who tends the land in a traditional manner, allowing indigenous plants and creatures to co-exist with more recently introduced planting. So you will find many wild plants and flowers typical of this climate and rural habitat. Outside kitchen with large BBQ, wood/pizza oven, granite work surfaces and sink. Outside pergola seating – seating eight - 10. Very private, 'J' shaped pool, open May to end of September. Measurements: longest 12m, widest 7m, shortest 10m, narrowest 5.8. Surrounding terrace with sun loungers. Private tennis court with showers. There are many attractive beaches and areas of more rugged coastline both on the Adriatic and Ionian coasts. The nearest beaches are about 45 minutes away by car. The public beaches are free but have limited facilities. Alternatively, for a car parking fee usually of about €5 you can visit the many private stretches of beach (lidos) where you can rent loungers and parasols and have access to toilets, showers and refreshments. Besides the stunning architecture of the local towns, bustling markets, attractive countryside, unspoilt beaches and wonderful food of the area, there many, varied activities that you can enjoy on your holiday. These include: local wine and olive oil tours and tastings; cave tours at Castellana Grotte - an amazing museum of ancient history in the cosmopolitan port of Taranto - the Roman ruins of Egnazia and the world heritage site of Alberobello. A complimentary welcome pack will be waiting for you upon arrival which will include milk, eggs, butter, orange juice, water, wine, beer, fresh fruit, cheese, cold meats and bread. Suitable for all ages and has fully enclosed grounds. The pool is not gated and there are several high terraces in the garden. The steps to the different levels within the house and the spiral staircase (for access to the upstairs bedrooms) makes it unsuitable for guests with severe mobility problems. The house has full central heating, if you choose to visit during the colder months. All linen (except for cot linen), towels and pool towels are provided and will be changed weekly. The house will be cleaned once a week for stays of over seven nights.
