About the Resort
Mountain Resort is located in the mountains within surroundings of attractive pastured areas, 1km from the village of Anogia, Rethymnon. It is at an altitude of 900 meters on the road that leads to “Nida”.
This resort, with its multiple activities, was created on a stretch of land which totals approximately 30.000 m2. In harmony with the original Cretan tradition and the beauty of wild nature of the area, which hosts a superb hotel with all the comforts of a four star, which it is rated. It is considered the largest mountain resort of its kind on the island of Crete, and beyond this, one of the largest in Greece.
13 large rooms, with their luxurious décor, provide the visitor with a quality stay. All rooms have a fireplace, hydro massage and a balcony or veranda with a view of snow covered Mount Psiloritis, which is the highest mountain on the island of Crete. The hotel, also, offers to each guest a fabulous beauty and relaxation salon. This inviting area consists of a heated swimming pool with hydro massage, sauna, hamam, facials, manicure, pedicure and body massage and therapies.
In the friendly surroundings of the traditional tavern and coffee house, one can enjoy the many traditional Cretan recipes in foods and desserts all made from fresh virgin ingredients of the village.
The outdoor view is mainly the beauty of wild nature. The bold formation of rock and the wild plantation blend together with the many aromatic herb plants that a visitor can encounter along the stone walkway and parametrically to the lake, both on the premises.
Rooms
All rooms are equipped with heating, air conditioning, energized fireplace, hydro massage, sitting area, cable television, radio-CD player, access to internet, safe box, room service and verandas that view the rugged mountains that encircle the resort.
Also, the hotel has two rooms that are especially equipped for handicapped persons, as well as two rooms for non smokers.
Facilities
While the interior of hotel is characterized by calmness and elegance in the exterior the wild beauty of Cretan landscape dominates. The natural elements are combined in harmony with all kinds of aromatic herbs, that can be found planted along the stone paths. The visitor has the opportunity to learn about plants like thyme, lavender, sage, fennel, mint, spearmint etc. with a simple walk around the 1400 year old lake.
GardenIn order to admire the view, the best place is the observatory, which is the highest point of the resort and ideal for moments of relaxation and calmness. The traditional cafe, that can be found next to the attractive lake, is offered in order the visitor tastes the homemade brews, desserts and raki, all made with great care.
Enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant and discover the marvellous Cretan cuisine through a variety of traditional flavours. Herbs from the gardens of the resort add to the taste while homemade wine and raki comes with your dinner.
