The Pirin Mountain Region is one of the most attractive and unspoilt regions in Bulgaria. There are three towering peaks reaching 2,900meters which provide excellent winter skiing and breathtaking summer views and walks.
Bansko is also becoming a very popular summer resort with hiking, fishing, water sports, horse riding and golf.
Both Bansko and the surrounding villages are famous for their healing mineral water springs and for relaxation holidays. Bansko is an old town, set on a flat valley floor in the scenic Pirin National Park and is considered to be Bulgarias number one ski resort, having the best and most modern ski centre of all Bulgarian ski resorts a favourite ski & snowboard destination, thanks to the excellent ski facilities combined with the unique architecture and history of the area with around 120 cultural and historical monuments to explore.
South of Bansko is located the National Park Pirin included in the UNESCO list for cultural and natural sightseeing. The park is rich with its lakes, waterfalls, caves, venerable trees and historical sites.
The resort has excellent snow conditions with great snow cover from December until May. The longest possible track combo makes a 16 km downhill race and 100% of the ski runs are covered by snow cannons, which guarantee sufficient snow coverage from December to May.
